New Year

I don't use this as much as I should, I'll admit using wordpress for Canned Ham kind of makes this place redundant. However, I try and keep the posts on the comic page relevant to the message in the comic, the intention of using this space is to talk about things that are unrelated. I really want to make a concerted effort to use my blogger account more. In fact it will be one of my New Year resolutions.

Christmas was good, you can see the list of booty on the comic page. Christmas gave us 2 extra presents one we wanted and one we didn't want. The one we didn't want was given to my wife; she caught some bug that's been going around and was (and still kind of is) sick as a dog. She missed christmas and I was sent alone to my parents to eat a marvelous meal and get some kick ass presents (my parents are too good to us). The Second gift was our house guest Elsa, she's a mini pinscher and a bundle of energy. She gets along well with Tyler our dog and we're having a blast. We're watching her while her mom and dad are in Seattle visiting her uncle.

One Year

I've been doing the strip for one year now, Wow... I don't think I've done any one set of characters for that long. Along the way there have been a few and for some reason I let them go, but I seem to have a pit-bull's grip on this cast and I don't seem to want to "Drop It". Am I rich? definitely not. Am I famous? Not that I am aware of, but you know what? I'm OK with that. I have thought of ending it, when the gags haven't worked or when I can't write a joke to save my life... But I work through it, I really care about these characters and I hope it shows. I have almost 100 pieces of original art even more than that if you count the 30 or so I did on the "Original Run" of Canned Ham (you know, back in the day when Ogden was hairy and orange). I do hope to gain some kind of notoriety. I mean it would be a dream come true to be as successful as Scott Kurtz ,Mike Krahulik & Jerry Holkins, Paul Southworth or Tim Buckley. But hey... I think I am doing OK for myself.

This year was AWESOME. I got inducted into Hyena Comics, a great group of talented people who really seem to know a lot about comics. I got married and who knows what else is on the horizon. I do know that I am looking forward to 2007. This week I'll be adding all sorts of content to the site, I am making a Goat Brigade page ( we need to get some new members ), I am working on a Cafe Press store front, and I have some wall papers and Icons i'd like to get up there. Plus I've got the honey moon pics uploaded to the server, I just have to code the page. Well I'm tired. I am going to bed.

Happy Birthday to Ogden, Crab, TG, Mr. Taylor and the rest of the Canned Ham Cast. Thanks for everything everyone.

Blech! I feel awful... My nose doesn't stop running, it hurts to cough (and every time i do i get a nice little flemmy present), My skin hurts to touch and my body aches. Sound like a fun weekend to you? no it doesn't.

On top of all of this we lost a very special person this weekend as my wife's uncle passed . We will miss him very much. He was a great guy :(

Goat Brigade!!!

Ok enough with the silliness. The goat brigade really is just me and one of my RAs Laura making total and complete asses of ourselves in public, in the dining hall and just about anywhere else on campus where we can get away with yelling "EEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHH!" at the top of our lungs while making crooked horns on the top of our heads. It came about when she was on the phone with her dad and we greeted each other with the afore mentioned cry. I'm pretty sure my wife (who was with me) thought we were out of our minds, but hey, SHE MARRIED ME. Anyway, her dad said we sounded like goats and the brigade was born. SO LOOK OUT RISD!!!! HERE COMES THE GOAT BRIGADE!!!!!!!!!

Day Light Savings

This has to be my favorite time of the year, next to christmas. It's the time when good ol' Uncle Sam says hey, you've been a good boy here is the gift of an extra hour of sleep. But uncle Sam seems to be changing his tune a bit and he's telling me I'll have to wait next year until the end of November to get that gift. You see here in the US we're doing an experiment, we're moving both time changes back a month. We won't change our clocks back until the end of Nov and we won't bring em forward again until the second sunday in March ( I hate the bring forward part of DLST).

In other news, I got the comic times set correctly. For what ever reason my comic (since I have been using comic press) has posted 3 hrs behind in GMT( well I know the reason I never fixed it in fear I would screw things up)but yesterday night just before bed time I fixed it so the Halloween comic posted on Eastern time.

We had a lot of rain yesterday. A LOT OF RAIN!!! so much my little apartment leaked in 7 spots! one of which was on my bed. We ended up sleeping on the pull out couch last night and right now my back is very very VERY ANGRY with me and my apartment.

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much on here... I'm busy , and I know that's a lame excuse... I am going to try more. I just have to be careful not to repeat myself in the news posts. Well I think that's all for now... If anything else happens I'll be sure to post!

ALOOOOOHA!

Coming to you 6 hrs behind in Hawaii, i'm writing this post to let you know I am having a blast!!!! On Oahu we went to the USS Arizona Memorial, Swam with the world famousWolphin (Kekaimalu or "Kermie"to her friends is 800lbs of fun and is the offspring of an atlanitic bottle nose dolphin [mom] and a false killer whale [dad]), Snorkled with fish, fed sealions, and luaued at germaines. Now we're on the lovely island of Maui, where we've rode horses named sharka and frieda, went to our second luau and theres more fun to come. The place we swam with Kekai is also the park in 50 first dates with adam sandler, though sadly i didn't see a walrus. we've got lots of pics and i plan on posting them soon! talk to u later
